Two (2) offices of Ateneo de Davao University assisted Central Mindanao Colleges-Official (CMC) in the conduct of their Ummah para sa Kalinaw: Madaris and Indigenous Peoples Education Stakeholders Forum last March 03, 2023 in Kidapawan City which highlighted the theme: Upholding Multiculturalism and Minority Rights, Amplifying Harmony for Peace.
The Al Qalam Institute represented by Deputy Executive Director Kenny Lloyd Angon and the Mindanawon Initiatives for Cultural Dialogue represented by Admin Associate Ms. Ruvi Jean Gallegos and two (2) officers of the Ateneo Lumad Students Organization(ALSO) assisted in the conduct of the said gathering of Muslim and IP stakeholders in the capital city of the Province of Cotabato.
This engagement is a manifestation of the growth in the relationship of Al Qalam Institute and Mindanawon with CMC which started during the benchmarking activity of the delegation headed by CMC VPAA Dr. Mark Gennesis dela Cerna in ADDU last February 16-17, 2023.
AQI Deputy ED Angon served as the facilitator of the forum and the breakout session with the Madaris Stakeholders while the Mindanawon delegates served as resource persons in the IP Education breakout session. These ADDU offices together with SALAM - The Ateneo Muslim Society, Ateneo Islamic Studies Students Association and ALSO also assisted CMC in the establishment of their Muslim and IP student organizations.
The forum was spearheaded by the CMC-Center for Social Action, CMC College of Teacher Education- CTE and the CMC Center for International Affairs and Linkages
