June 4, 2024 – Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) has actively participated the kickoff ceremony for the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) program in partnership with San Pedro College, Holy Child Central Colleges Inc., Negros Oriental State University, Universidad Catolica Andres Bello. The event, held on June 4, 2024, via Zoom, was a significant step towards advancing global education and addressing key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Mr. Marl Laurence Fano, a representative from HCCCI, warmly welcomed over 100 students from various institutions to the virtual ceremony. In his opening remarks, Mr. Fano emphasized the importance of the COIL program in promoting international collaboration and enhancing educational experiences through technology. The ceremony commenced with the presentation of the general objectives of the COIL program. The primary aim is to integrate international perspectives into the curriculum through online collaboration and exchange, thereby enriching the learning experience for students across the globe. This initiative directly supports SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. During the ceremony, participants were also introduced to the detailed COIL plan, outlining the various activities and collaborative projects scheduled throughout the program. This plan includes virtual exchanges, joint research projects, and cross-cultural discussions aimed at broadening students' horizons and fostering mutual respect and understanding. As the kickoff ceremony concluded, CMCian students expressed their enthusiasm for the program and their eagerness to participate in the upcoming activities.
