CMC Delegation Engages in Enriching I ACE Program at SUSS
The delegation from Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) was warmly welcomed to the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) for the I ACE (International Academic and Cultural Exchange) Program, marking a significant milestone in the collaboration between the two institutions. This program aims to enhance international learning experiences and foster academic and cultural exchange.
Upon arrival, the CMC delegation was greeted by Mr. Mohammad Ayaz, Lead of Global Initiatives at the Student Success Centre, SUSS. The delegation embarked on a comprehensive university tour, guided by Student Success Centre staff and student leaders. They visited key facilities including the SUSS Rooftop Farm (Block C Level 9), SUSS Library (Block C Level 2), and the SUSS Student Space & Experiential Lab (Block B Level 3).
A delightful lunch was enjoyed at the FoodClique cafeteria located on Block A Level 3, providing an opportunity for the delegates to experience campus life and interact with SUSS students and faculty.
The highlight of the visit was the International Learning Session held in Seminar Room C.5.14, Block C Level 5. The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Suriyani Rahamat, Head of Professional Readiness at the Student Success Centre, SUSS. This was followed by opening remarks and the event rationale presented by Mr. Kenny Lloyd L. Angon, the Student Team Leader of CMC ACE Program Batch 1.
Dr. Mark Gennesis Dela Cerna, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Director of the Center for International Affairs and Linkages at Central Mindanao Colleges, provided an insightful presentation of the CMC profile. This was complemented by Ms. Suriyani Rahamat’s introduction to SUSS and the Student Success Centre, offering a comprehensive overview of the institution’s mission and student support initiatives.
Further enriching the session, A/Prof Jennifer Yeo from the Teaching & Learning Centre and A/Prof Fang Zheng from Graduate Studies at SUSS delivered presentations on their respective departments, highlighting innovative teaching methodologies and advanced graduate programs.
The closing program featured reflections and sharing of learning experiences by selected delegates, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual understanding. Tokens of appreciation were exchanged between the representatives of both institutions, with A/Prof Jennifer Yeo representing SUSS.
Dr. Gemma Kintanar, the Dean of the Graduate School Education at Central Mindanao Colleges, extended acknowledgments to the hosts, expressing gratitude for their hospitality and the enriching experience. The event concluded with closing remarks and a photo-taking session, led by Mr. Harminder Singh, Head of Student Life at the Student Success Centre, SUSS.
The I ACE Program at SUSS not only provided the CMC delegation with valuable insights into the academic and cultural environment of SUSS but also strengthened the partnership between the two institutions.
