CHEDRO XII, RQAT Visit New CMC Annex Building as Part of Graduate Education Monitoring
A growing institution is seen not only in the programs it
offers, but also in the spaces it creates for learning, support, and
future expansion.
As part of the monitoring and evaluation of the Graduate
Teacher Education Programs of Central Mindanao Colleges, the Commission on
Higher Education Regional Office XII (CHEDRO XII) and the Regional Quality
Assessment Team (RQAT) visited the new CMC Annex Building on September 8, 2026.
The site visit placed strong emphasis on the institution’s
physical plant and learning environment, allowing the evaluators to see
firsthand how CMC continues to expand and improve its facilities in support of
graduate education and institutional growth.
The visiting team included Dr. Rowena Sosas and Dr. Jeanne Y.
Aure, RQAT members; Dr. Zohrahaydah N. Panawidan, Chief Education Program
Specialist of CHEDRO XII; and Dr. Annabelle Roda-Dafielmoto, Assistant Chief
Education Program Specialist of CHEDRO XII.
At the Annex, the evaluators were welcomed by Mr. Axil Jame
Mauna, MAEd, Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Administration, who
received the team during the physical plant visitation.
The visit provided an opportunity to examine the newly
developed learning spaces, academic support areas, facilities, and overall
physical environment that form part of CMC’s continuing investment in quality
education.
More than a structural expansion, the new Annex Building
represents the institution’s commitment to ensuring that physical development
remains closely connected to academic quality, student experience, and
institutional responsiveness.

For CMC, physical plant development is not separate from
academic excellence. Learning environments influence how students engage, how
faculty deliver instruction, how services are provided, and how institutions
respond to changing educational needs.
The Annex visitation also reflected the broader purpose of
external monitoring: to look beyond documents and policies and examine how
institutional commitments are translated into actual spaces, systems, and
services.
The engagement advances SDG 4: Quality Education through
improved learning environments, SDG 5: Gender Equality through inclusive and
equitable access to educational spaces, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
through continued investment in institutional facilities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through constructive engagement
with higher education quality assurance bodies.
The new CMC Annex Building is more than an addition to the
campus. It is a visible expression of continuous improvement, institutional
readiness, and a commitment to creating better spaces for better learning.
