Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC), through its Center for
International Affairs and Linkages (CIAL), continues to strengthen its
commitment to internationalization, innovation, and global academic engagement
through its active participation in the international webinar entitled “Voices
of ASEAN: Forging Future-Ready Institutions: Integrating Technology,
Sustainability, and Resilience for Excellence,” held on May 20, 2026, via the
Zoom platform.
The virtual session gathered educators, academic leaders,
researchers, and institutional representatives from across the ASEAN region to
discuss transformative strategies and emerging trends that enable educational
institutions to become more adaptive, innovative, and future-ready. The webinar
emphasized the integration of technology, sustainability, and resilience in
shaping institutions capable of responding to the evolving demands of the 21st
century.
The webinar featured three distinguished experts from Malaysia
and Indonesia who shared valuable insights on institutional excellence, digital
governance innovation, and climate resilience.
Prof. Ma. Christina Aquino from Taylor’s University Malaysia
discussed “Advancing Performance Excellence: A Deep Dive into the ASEAN Mutual
Recognition Agreement (MRA),” highlighting the importance of quality assurance,
regional cooperation, and academic excellence in strengthening ASEAN
institutions.
Dr. Dedy Syamsuar from Indonesia presented “Internal Digital
Government Innovation: Trust, Structural Readiness, and the Challenge of
Institutionalized Use,” emphasizing the growing importance of digital
governance, institutional trust, and technological readiness in sustaining
innovation and organizational effectiveness.
Meanwhile, Dr. Rudi from Indonesia delivered his presentation
entitled “Towards Climate-Resilient Farming Systems: Evaluating Vulnerability
and Adaptation in West Sumatra,” which focused on sustainability, environmental
resilience, and adaptive strategies in addressing climate-related challenges
affecting communities and agricultural systems.
The discussions underscored the importance of innovation,
sustainability, and resilience as key drivers in building globally competitive
and future-ready institutions across the ASEAN region. The webinar also
encouraged stronger regional collaboration and knowledge-sharing among
institutions committed to academic excellence and sustainable development.
