CTEquip 2026 Prepares Future Educators for Teaching Internship
Before future educators can command a
classroom, they must first master the thinking behind every meaningful lesson.
Central Mindanao Colleges strengthened its
teacher-preparation initiatives through CTEquip 2026, a lesson planning seminar
and workshop held on August 14, 2026, designed to equip fourth-year education
students with practical skills as they prepare for their upcoming teaching
internship.
Organized by the College of Teacher
Education (CTE), the activity brought together fourth-year education students
for discussions, workshops, and presentations centered on effective lesson
planning. The program provided participants with opportunities to deepen their
understanding of instructional planning while applying concepts through guided
and hands-on activities.
Mrs. Novabella L. Dagumanpan, Program Head
of the BEED and BECED Programs, and Ms. Kayla T. Casulla, Program Head of the
BSED Program, were present during the activity, highlighting the support of the
College of Teacher Education for students as they prepare for their teaching
internship.
Dr. Ricky Buenavia Pante, EdD, Education
Program Supervisor (EPS) and Graduate School Education Faculty, served as the
resource speaker and facilitator of the seminar and workshop. His sessions
focused on essential concepts and practices in lesson planning, followed by a
question-and-answer forum where participants clarified concepts and discussed
instructional concerns relevant to their upcoming internship.
The activity continued with a hands-on
workshop, allowing students to develop lesson planning outputs based on the
principles discussed. Selected students from different majors subsequently
presented their outputs, demonstrating their understanding and receiving
feedback that could help refine their instructional planning skills before
entering their internship.
Beyond lesson planning, CTEquip 2026
served as a preparatory experience for fourth-year education students as they
move closer to their teaching internship. The initiative connected academic
learning with practical classroom preparation, reinforcing CMC’s commitment to
developing future educators equipped to plan meaningful instruction, facilitate
learning, and respond effectively to the needs of their learners.
The initiative also supports the United
Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality
Education, by strengthening the preparation and professional competencies of
future educators. It also contributes to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
by helping students develop relevant skills and professional readiness as they
transition into the teaching profession.
