General Santos
City | August 8, 2025 — Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) received a proud
distinction from the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XII (CHEDRO
XII) as it was awarded a Certificate of Commendation during the ASEAN Month
2025 Opening Ceremony held in General Santos City.
The award
recognizes CMC’s growing contribution to internationalizing Philippine higher
education, particularly its active participation in the Times Higher Education
Impact Rankings 2025 – 1501+. It is a meaningful affirmation of the
institution’s drive to align local excellence with global benchmarks, while
remaining rooted in the values and aspirations of Mindanaoan communities.
This recognition
reflects the shared efforts of the entire CMC community from its
administrators, academic departments, and support units, to its faculty, staff,
and students—whose collective work continues to push boundaries and create
opportunities beyond borders. At the heart of these initiatives is the Center
for International Affairs and Linkages (CIAL) and its student-led arm, PRISM
(Passionate Individuals for Responsive & Strategic Internationalization
towards Sustainable Development in Mindanao), whose energy and ideas bring the
institution’s global vision to life.
CMC is deeply
grateful to CHEDRO XII, led by Regional Director Rody P. Garcia, MDM, JD, EdD,
for the continued trust and support. Their encouragement plays a vital role in
inspiring institutions like CMC to take bold steps in strengthening academic
partnerships, nurturing global citizenship, and championing quality and
inclusivity in higher education.
This commendation
stands as a powerful symbol of what can be achieved when an institution works
with purpose and unity. It reflects how shared commitment and collaboration can
turn vision into impact—not only within the campus, but across communities
working toward a more inclusive and globally engaged future.
